Both events at the first ever Beach2Battleship have reached capacity. With 500 registered in both the full and half iron distance events, wait list and charity slot information has been posted. Wilmington, NC - October 1, 2007 - Set Up Events announces it will be adding an iron distance event slated for November 1, 2008, taking place in the Wilmington, NC region. A half iron distance race will also take place simultaneously. Both events will fall under the name Beach2Battleship, a name that derives directly from the unique course the triathletes will take, as well as, the world class tourist experience and amenities available to competitors, their families and friends.

"The Wilmington, NC region is a destination that people from around the world enjoy," said Jeremey Davis, Beach to Battleship Race Director. "Our triathletes will start from Wrightsville Beach, NC for a point to point swim in the channel so they will not have to deal with the unpredictability of an ocean swim. Beach2Battleship finishes at the USS North Carolina Battleship Memorial, a historic tourist destination which we feel symbolizes the strength and character that it will take to compete and complete the event."

Beach2Battleship will join over 70 other events produced by Set Up Events in 2008. Set Up Events is one of the nation's largest triathlon production companies.

"We believe the recipe of success for any iron distance triathlon is simple, you must have a great course, a destination location and a community that supports the event one hundred percent," said Bill Scott, President of Set Up Events. "We have all three as the entire region including the cities and communities that the 140 mile plus course encompasses are behind the event in a major way. Add to that the scenic beauty of the course and all the family fun opportunities available at the beach and in the city of Wilmington and we know this will be very popular event."

To execute this major event Set Up Events is bringing together various staff and equipment from each of its production teams. The entire company will join together to ensure a phenomenal race experience for the triathletes and their family and friends.
